International Airport “Kharkiv” summed up the results of the past 2016, as well as provided the traditional statistics on the results of its last month.

In December 2016 the Kharkiv airport passenger traffic amounted to 52.3 thousand – it is 60% more than for the same period last year.

The stable development of the airport was ensured by regular flights to Istanbul (Pegasus, Atlasglobal), Kyiv (UIA), Minsk (Belavia), Warsaw (LOT), Kutaisi (UIA), Tel Aviv (UIA), as well as by charter flights to Sharm El Sheikh (Windrose, AZUR Air Ukraine, Bravo), Kharkov-Kittilä (Bravo), and at the junction of the two years the flight to Maribor from Bravo airlines has also become quite popular.

Thus, the last month of the year was no exception to the general tendency of solid progress in the development of the International Airport “Kharkiv”, and allowed achieving a significant increase in passenger traffic at the end of the year.

Over the past 12 months, the airport has increased the frequency of existing regular flights to Kyiv (UIA) to two daily flights, to Istanbul (Atlasglobal) – from the original four to seven per week, Kharkiv Airport sends passengers to Tel Aviv (UIA) three times a week, but started with two.

Also in March of 2016 International airport “Kharkiv” launched a new flight to Warsaw (LOT), which, by the way, has also started with 5 frequencies per week, and then increased to 6. Kharkiv has handled a lot of seasonal charter flights, as well as has launched new ones to Dalaman (AZUR Air Ukraine, Bravo, Atlasglobal) and Maribor (Bravo).

Leaders on the number of flights among charters were Antalya (UIA, Windrose, AZUR Air Ukraine, Atlasglobal, Yanair) and Sharm El Sheikh (Windrose, AZUR Air Ukraine, Bravo, Yanair, UIA).

In general, 2016 was the predictably successful, and the results came close to the record results of 2013 – in the past year, the airport handled 599,700 passengers, which is 61% more than in 2015.

Despite having already achieved impressive results, the International Airport “Kharkiv” never ceases to develop, and this year plans to launch new flights in order to provide the guests and residents of the city the opportunity to comfortably get anywhere in the world from home, as well as to continue to represent Ukraine in international aviation.
