International airport “Kharkiv” has summarized the results of its operating in September of the current year. In September passenger traffic increased by 22% compared to September 2012 – from 53 100 up to 64 900. Passenger traffic on international destinations significantly exceeded the traffic on domestic ones – 57 700 and 7 200 respectively. In September 2012 these rates were 43 600 and 9 500 passengers (up 32% and down 24% respectively).
In whole from January to September 2013 the traffic of International airport “Kharkiv” was 460 200 passengers (up 20%), among them 400 300 passengers on international flights (up 31%) and 59 900 – on domestic ones (down 23%). In the prior year – 383 500 passengers, among them 305 500 – on international flights and 78 000 – on domestic ones.
In autumn 2013 International airport “Kharkiv” continues expanding its route network. In particular, launching of a new regular flight between Kharkiv and Warsaw (operated by the low-cost leader Wizz Air) on 1 October was an important step to development of international air carriages from Kharkiv airport.
Moreover, on purpose of further route network development and mutually-beneficial contacts, representatives of Kharkiv airport took part at international air forum World Routes Development Forum 2013 held in Las-Vegas (the USA) from 5 to 8 October. This biggest industry event was attended by more than 3000 delegates from different countries of the world. Participation allowed air companies, airports and other branch enterprises to strengthen existing business relationships and enter new markets.
Our visit to World Routes 2013 resulted in range of prearrangements and their further realisation will allow International airport “Kharkiv” to take up firmer positions on European and international air carriage market.
