On 20 May in the hangar for technical maintenance of Kharkiv International Airport there was held a press-conference on the occasion of regular flight between Kharkiv and Tel-Aviv launching and a seminar for representatives of travel agencies of Ukraine.
The new flight is a result of cooperation among the airport, a leader of passenger carriages in Ukraine, UIA and one of the largest international tour operators, Coral Travel. Ukrainians are interested in foreign trips and it stimulates an active development of new tourist destinations. Over the last years Israel has become more popular among our tourists. That’s why the launching of the direct flight between Kharkiv and Tel-Aviv has become an absolutely logic step.
The flight started on 17 May. During first 2 weeks, till 2 June, the flights between Kharkiv and Tel-Aviv are operated once weekly, on Sunday, and from 3 June – twice weekly, on Wednesday and Sunday. Return flights, from Tel-Aviv to Kharkiv are on Monday and Thursday. Departure from Kharkiv International Airport is at 9:20 p.m., from Ben Gurion International Airport – at 1:30 a.m. (local time). The flights are operated by Boeing-737 and Embraer-190. Travel time is 3 h 20 min. One-way ticket price, incl. all airport taxes, is from 4507 UAH ($193), round-trip – from 6565 UAH ($280).

Vladyslav Ilyin mentioned that launching of the direct flight to Israel has become a great event for Kharkiv region. “Opening of this destination was one of our priority tasks, and we are glad that our common efforts have been crowned with success”, — he underlined. Also, a commercial director of Kharkiv International Airport told about the destinations of summer season 2015 and made a virtual excursion through the airport paying attention on its infrastructure possibilities.
Larysa Samoylovich mentioned that two and a half years ago when speaking in front of Ukrainian tourist business representatives in Kyiv, she said that the direct flight between Kharkiv and Tel-Aviv is necessary. She thanked the management of Kharkiv International Airport, UIA and Coral Travel for assistance in this lifelong dream fulfilling. Mrs.Samoylovich underlined that during last 5 year more than 14 million people have visited Israel, and on behalf of Israel Tourism Department invited Ukrainians to this old country to enjoy its beauty and historic sights: “I invite you to the trip around this unique country which combines old history, developed culture, desert and three seas”.
Representing the list of Israel offers, Head of destinations department of Coral Travel, Natalia Goray told why our tourists choose this route more often. Also she told why Ukrainians prefer guided tours – and that the company has variants for each budget. “Israel – at first it is visiting of holy places which we know and dream to visit. It is visa-free entry. It’s our family ties, meeting with classmates, friends, colleagues, neighbors. It is a great rest and treatment at the sea. It is a various excursion program. And of course it’s an unfatiguing flight – only 3 hours”. On 20 May in parallel with the press-conference there was a seminar in Kharkiv International Airport, it was devoted to recreational potential of Israel. More than 100 Ukrainian travel agencies took part in the event.
International airport “Kharkiv” (http://hrk.aero/) is one of the key objects of Slobozhanshchina capital, reconstructed in preparation for the finals of European Football Championship in 2012. Sizes of a new runway are 2500 х 45 m. Start of large-scale project was given on April 1, 2008, when New Systems AM LLC (a group of DCH, the owner – a well-known Ukrainian businessman, investor and general coordinator of Kharkiv’s preparations for Euro 2012, in 2005-2012 – the president of FC Metalist Alexander Yaroslavsky) won the competition for a long-term rent of the integral property complex of Kharkiv airport.Reconstruction of International airport “Kharkiv” was made in the format of public-private partnership. The total investment to the project made by Alexander Yaroslavsky was $ 107.2 million (airport terminal and surrounding areas). The amount of funding allocated from the State budget for the reconstruction of the airport complex (including construction and airfield control tower) – $ 191.3 million.
