In 2012 more than half a million passengers used services of International airport “Kharkov”. If in December 2011 the volume of passenger traffic was 308 700 people, then in the end of 2012 this index was 501 500 people that is 62% more then in 2011. “Substantive passenger flow growth can be explained by the airport policy directed on satisfaction of client expectations and demands”, – mentioned Vladimir Vasilchenko, CEO of New Systems AM (the operator company of International Airport “Kharkov” belongs to DCH group headed by Alexander Yaroslavsky).

On the whole in 2012 International airport “Kharkov” demonstrated positive dynamic both in the passenger traffic and in the quantity of served flights. International traffic substantially exceeded domestic one (395 200 and 106 200 passengers). Volume of passenger traffic first of all on international flights in 2012 increased compared to 2011 (231 200 and 77 400 passengers). So the general tendency of international flights increase typical for previous years was saved. General number of flights served by airport in 2012 was 5161 that is 29% more than in 2011 (4002). Traditionally international destinations dominate (3018 flights), while the general number of domestic flights was 2143. Compared to 2011 international flight number increased on 43% (2105 in 2011), domestic – on 13% (1897). Nowadays high-demand flights are the following:

  • Regular international destinations: Istanbul (Pegasus), Vienna (Austrian Airlines), Moscow (Aeroflot, UTair), Dubai (flydubai);
  • On-season international destinations: Antalya (UIA, Wind Rose), Barcelona (UIA). Sharm-EL-Sheikh (UIA, Wind Rose), Tivat (UIA, KHORS);
  • Regular domestic destinations: Kyiv (Borispil) (UIA), Kyiv (Zhulyany) (UTair Ukraine).

In short-range plans of the airport administration is further improvement of passenger service quality, new services introduction, extension of flight geography and flight number increase of popular destinations. “Nowadays we are holding negotiations with main global air companies to open new possibilities for our passengers. Everything we do is to make Ukrainians and foreign guests feel comfortably. And we hope that our passengers will use services of International airport “Kharkov” again and again”, – said Vladimir Vasilchenko.
