November 2013 was marked with another growth of number of international flights operated from International airport “Kharkiv”. In this month 275 international flights were operated from the airport, an increase of 24% compared to November of the prior year. At the same time there was noticed a decrease of number of domestic flights by 23%: in November 2013 – 159, in 2012 – 207 flights. The whole quantity of flights operated from International airport “Kharkiv” in November was 434 (up 1%), from the beginning of the year – 4425 flights, down 7% compared to the same period of the prior year. A certain decrease of the rates was caused mostly by small cut-back of number of domestic air carriages.
From January to November 2013 the passenger traffic increased by 21%: in 2012 464 500 passengers were carried, in 2013 – 562 000. In November 2013 this rate was 47 500 passengers, up 23%. Traditionally international carriages continue leading. Thus, from the beginning of the year 488 400 passengers (up 33%) flied on international flights, 73 900 (down 25%) – on domestic ones. In November of the current year these rates were 41 300 (up 43%) and 6 200 (down 36%) passengers respectively. Consequently we can draw a conclusion that Ukrainians prefer ground transport for domestic trips.
The most popular destinations among regular flights are Vienna (Austrian Airlines), Dubai (flydubai), Kyiv (UIA, Utair Ukraine), Istanbul (Pegasus), Warsaw (Wizz Air), Moscow (Aeroflot, Utair), Khurgada (UIA, Kharkiv Airlines), Sharm-El-Sheikh (Kharkiv Airlines, Utair Ukraine) and Kutaisi (Wizz Air).
