Andrey Olegovich Antonov is the youngest of four children of Oleg Antonov. He was born on April 23, 1965. In 1982-1987 he studied at Kiev Art Institute at the Department of Art History. He currently works as an executive secretary of one of Kiev”s monthly magazines. He is married and has a 11-year-old son Vitaliy.

Oleg Konstantinovich Antonov (1906-84) is an aircraft designer, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1981) and the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1967). He graduated from Leningrad Polytechnical Institute, worked as an engineer and a chief designer of Moscow Glider Factory. He created the gliders “Upar”, “Rot Front”, “Standard”. Since 1938 he worked at A.S.Yakovlev design office. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War Antonov developed a number of landing gliders. In the post-war years he designed a family of Antonov aircraft “An” – from the single-engine biplane An-2 to the transporter of military equipment “Ruslan” and the unique cargo aircraft of space systems “Mriya”. Winner of the State Award of the USSR, Lenin Award. He was awarded two Orders of the October Revolution, First Class , and medals. Hero of Socialist Labor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1984 he was awarded the Gold Medal of A.N. Tupolev for work in aerospace science and technology. For over 60 years of continuous work Oleg Antonov wrote 200 scientific papers, 4 books, he owned 72 inventor”s certificates for discoveries, dozens of magazine and scientific articles. On February 7, 1991,  the day of  the 85th anniversary of the outstanding aircraft designer, on the house in Ogar”ova street in Kiev, where Oleg Antonov had  lived 27 years, there was installed a memorial plaque.
