The International Forum AGROPORT, traditionally supported by Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy’s DCH, launched in Kharkiv on October 20. This year’s event is held on a large scale.

“I am glad that AGROPORT gets better every year and I hope that next year will be the year of KhTP (Kharkiv Tractor Plant)”, – said Yaroslavskyy at the event’s opening ceremony.

As it was previously, the forum is held under the auspices of United Nations. When speaking to reporters, Ronald Vargas – an officer in FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) – noted not only a high level of AGROPORT-2016 organization, but also pointed out its importance for the regional and national economy.

Kharkiv region has a great potential in the agricultural sector.

Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy has also confirmed that he had agreed with the Austrian investor on the purchase of approximately 29% of the shares of PJSC Kharkiv Tractor Plant. This agreement will allow the beneficiary of the DCH Group to consolidate 91.76% of the shares (the remaining share is split among shareholders in a total of about 20 thousand people). Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy told about it at a press briefing.

“We are on the way to the concentration”, – the businessman said. According to him, the existing agreement with the Austrian investor has to be approved in the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, after which it will be finalized. This process should be another step towards the implementation of the project on reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Kharkiv Tractor Plant. Let us remind that at present time the enterprise undergoes a previously approved process of the pre-juridical recovery.

Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy has established a credit line for KhTP amounting 400 UAH million for working capital, as well as fully paid off the wage arrears occurred before he came to the enterprise.

“I cannot give the exact timing. We still need to finish all litigation processes. I would like to start the New Year having a tractor”, – said Yaroslavskyy.

He expressed the confidence in the fact that next year the plant will be operating in full. He did not rule out that KhTP will develop and produce innovative agricultural machinery, having demand in foreign markets, but focused on the fact that the company will primarily consider the needs of local farmers.

“We will produce the goods needed in Ukraine, above all”, – said Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy.

As noted earlier, the forum in the Kharkiv airport will be holding 20 specialized conferences for three days, their subjects will cover the entire range of the agricultural sector issues starting from investment problems and to the use of most modern technologies.

The new Slobozhanshchina’s gateway built by Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy under the project of city’s preparation to Euro 2012, hosts AGROPORT the third year in a row. Since 2014 the forum gathered more than 500 companies from 12 countries, working in the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine. This is one of the biggest events of the agrarian sector in Eastern Europe, and the only industry event in Ukraine, which is included in the global calendar of FAO.
