Kharkov, 5 February 2016 – Already on March 2nd, so in less than a month, LOT Polish Airlines will start its direct service between Kharkov and Warsaw. From this moment polish carrier will offer the shortest way not only to Poland, but also via Warsaw to dozens destinations in Europe and North America.


“Launching of a regular air connection between Kharkiv and Warsaw is a great event for us because our passengers gain more possibilities” – CEO of Kharkiv International Airport Vladimir Vasilchenko underlined. – Negotiations with LOT Airlines held long 4 and a half years and finally we have a new flight that opens a door for the development of relations between our countries, cities and people. Also it will allow our passengers to get not only to European countries but also to Northern America and Asian countries at acceptable prices. Particularly I would like to thank Consulate General of Poland in Kharkiv for active participation in this project: it made a great impact in opening of this new flight. Also many thanks to Kharkiv state administration for its support in all our beginnings. In result of our effective cooperation we get such new great projects”.

Flight to Warsaw last about 2 hours, and total travel time to North America is only 13 hours including very convenient and short transfer at our hub, Warsaw Chopin Airport” – says Adrian Kubicki, Corporate Communications Director.

On Mondays, Fridays and Sundays flights to Warsaw will take off at 14:40; on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 18:00. Late afternoon flights give passengers access to the evening wave of domestic and European flights, i.e. to Krakow, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Paris, London, Milan and many others.

Right now there is no such airline, and travellers are suffering from lack of convenient connections. All flights between Warsaw and Kharkiv are operated by modern, and technologically advanced Embraer jets.

All long haul flights are operated by the state-of-art aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Kharkiv is one of the first destinations to open by LOT after formal completing the successful restructuring process. Together with Kharkiv LOT launched several other exciting routes, such as Luxemburg, Ljubljana, Athens, Beirut, Nice and many others.

On the occasion of the flight launching LOT Airlines presented new promotional prices on international flights from Kharkiv. Round-trip ticket price on the flights between Kharkiv and Warsaw in the period of promotion is from $129, between Kharkiv and other European airports – from $249, to Canada/the USA – from $559. The period of promotion is from 11 February till 21 February (trips can be made from March to August 2016).



International airport “Kharkiv” (https://hrk.aero/) – one of the key objects of Slobozhanshchina capital, reconstructed in preparation for the finals of European Football Championship in 2012. Sizes of a new runway are 2500 х 45 m. Start of large-scale project was given on April 1, 2008, when New Systems AM LLC (a group of DCH, the owner – a well-known Ukrainian businessman, investor and general coordinator of Kharkiv’s preparations for Euro 2012, in 2005-2012 – the president of FC Metalist Alexander Yaroslavsky) won the competition for a long-term rent of the integral property complex of Kharkiv airport.
Reconstruction of International airport “Kharkiv” was made in the format of public-private partnership. The total investment to the project made by Alexander Yaroslavsky was $ 107.2 million (airport terminal and surrounding areas).

The amount of funding allocated from the State budget for the reconstruction of the airport complex (including construction and airfield control tower) – $ 191.3 million.
