The Italian airline Ernest Airlines will open two regular flights from Kharkiv to Rome and Milan. The launch date is March 21, 2019. Ticket prices start at €45 one way, including taxes and hand luggage. Flights will be on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Ernest Airlines and Kharkiv International Airport, have signed a long-term collaborative partnership agreement which will provide direct flights connecting Kharkiv International Airport with the two most important cities of Italy.

“By opening two new routes from Kharkiv, we mark a new and very important chapter in the history of Ernest Airlines. We started our direct flights from Italy to Ukraine one year ago from Lviv and then also from Kyiv, operating with seven destinations to Italy and now we continue our expansion with other two new routes from Kharkiv to Rome and Milan. Thanks to the trust of our passengers in last 12 month we transported between Italy and Ukraine more than 200.000 passengers”, said Chady El Tannir, President of Ernest Airlines.

According to the president of the airline, Kharkiv was chosen due to such factors as its location in a strategic area covering the entire East of Ukraine, dense population and high demand from citizens. Ukrainians often fly to Italy to relax, work or visit relatives and friends. And Italians often do business in Ukraine.

“We are pleased that we were able to reach an agreement with Ernest Airlines on the start of cooperation and the decision to open direct flights from Kharkiv to the two largest cities of Italy. Direct flights from Rome and Milan will be an excellent gift for both tourists and business representatives. The Italian low-cost airline will join the ranks of airlines that fly from Kharkiv airport, and this will undoubtedly contribute to the expansion of our route network”, said Volodymyr Vasylchenko, Kharkiv International Airport General Director, New Systems AM, a member of Oleksandr Yaroslavsky’s DCH Group.

Flights to Italy will be carried out by the new Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats. Tickets will be available from the next week on www.flyernest.com site, as well as travel and ticket agencies.
