In May 2021, Kharkiv International Airport served 95.9 thousand passengers. That helped it take third place among Ukraine’s airports and second place among regional airports in terms of passenger traffic.

According to the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine, 1.16 million people used the services of Ukraine’s airports in May. Boryspil International Airport got the largest traffic: 707 thousand passengers. Lviv takes first place among the regions, as it got 115.3 thousand passengers. Kharkiv International Airport takes second place, although it was third among the regions in previous months.

The number of flights is gradually increasing after the quarantine. In May, airlines operated only eight fewer flights from Kharkiv International Airport than in the same pre-pandemic period, i.e. in May 2019. For instance, launching new destinations has helped increase passenger traffic. In May, Wizz Air and SkyUp Airlines operated regular flights from Kharkiv to Larnaca (Cyprus), while SkyUp Airlines operated flights to Batumi (Georgia) and Tirana (Albania).

In May, Kharkiv International Airport ranks among the Top Three Airports in Ukraine.
