The passenger traffic of Kharkiv International Airport in March 2019 amounted to 83.4 thousand people. This is 42% more than in March last year when 58.7 thousand passengers used the airport services. The largest increase of 54% came on the passenger traffic of international flights — there were served 66.8 thousand people. 16.6 thousand passengers used domestic flights, which is 8% higher than last year.

During the month, airlines made 427 departures from Kharkiv International Airport, which is 37% more than in the same period in 2018. Sharm el-Sheikh(SkyUp, Azur Air Ukraine, Windrose, UIA), Istanbul(Turkish Airlines, Pegasus), Kyiv(UIA), Vienna(WizzAir), Warsaw(LOT), Dortmund, Wroclaw, Katowice, Gdansk(WizzAir), and Minsk(Belavia) have become the most popular destinations.

For the last three months of 2019, 221.2 thousand people used the services of Kharkiv International Airport, which is 29% more than last year. The total number of departures increased by 15% and reached 1,074.

In March, the airport launched three new destinations at once. On March 2ndwere opened regular flights to Sharjah (UAE) from the Ukrainian low-cost SkyUp Airlines, one of its aircraft is now based in Kharkiv. And on March 12th— opened direct flights to Rome and Milan, Italy carried by Ernest Airlines. In addition, regular flights between Kharkiv and Tel Aviv (Israel) resumed on March 31.

The important news of the month was the announcement of the beginning of cooperation between Kharkiv International Airport and the largest European low-cost airline Ryanair. Tickets to Krakow, Poznan (Poland) and Vilnius (Lithuania) are already available on the airline website Ryanair.com. Also, from March 19, tickets are available on skyup.aero on four new destinations at once — Barcelona (Spain), Larnaca (Cyprus), Rimini (Italy), Kutaisi (Georgia), which will open in May-June of the current year.
