On November 13, for the first time in the history of Kharkiv International Airport, a regular flight service was opened between Kharkiv and the United Kingdom. Low-cost airline Wizz Air launched flights to London.

In honor of the new direction and the first flight, passengers had surprises: a festive decor, a buffet table, a cake with symbols of England and DJ Stream in the international departures hall.

“Today we are celebrating a significant event in the history of not only our airport but also of the city of Kharkiv — the opening of direct flights to the capital of Great Britain. London, which is not only one of the most important cities in the world, but also one of the largest air hubs on the planet, has expanded the route map of the Kharkiv airport. We are pleased that our cooperation with Wizz Air continues to bear fruit and pleases Kharkiv citizens and guests of the city with new interesting directions”, said Volodymyr Vasylchenko, general director of the operating company Kharkiv International Airport New Systems AM, a member of Oleksandr Yaroslavsky’s DCH Group.

Flights are carried out three times a week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On some weeks —twice, without Thursday. Departure time from Kharkiv is 1:15 PM. The journey time is 3 hours 55 minutes. Tickets can be purchased on wizzair.com. The cost of a one-way ticket without luggage starts from 609 hryvnias.

Flights to London is already the fifth of six new destinations that Wizz Air is opening together with Kharkiv International Airport. Prior to that, regular flights to Dortmund, Katowice, Gdansk, and Wroclaw were opened. They are in high demand among Kharkiv citizens. The sixth destination will be Vienna it will be possible to fly there from Kharkiv starting from November 25, 2018.
